Girls Road Trip

On Saturday my friend, Jen, and I decided to go for our second year in a row to the Torrey Music Festival in where else, but Torrey Utah.  Don't know where Torrey is?  Take the exit at Scipio, cut across to Salina, and from there take the 24 south until you reach Torrey.  I think the population is Torrey is only about 125 but every year they put on a pretty nice little Folk Music festival.  It seems there is a lot of artistic talent residing in Torrey and they organize the music festival and get some great performers to come.  Now, I'm not a big fan of folk music.  In fact, it's about the only time of year that I actually listen to folk music but here are the advantages:  the drive down is beautiful, Torrey is located in red rock country right near Capitol Reef park, it makes for a relaxing day of sitting and listening to music, eating, sleeping, listening to music, reading, and listening to more music, the elevation is higher and thus the temperature is nice and cool, and finally, let's just say a very eclectic group gathers at such an event.  Well, it was a beautiful, nice cool day and even a few drops of rain fell on us.  This is an event that I don't think I will miss next year - Jen and I will be gunning for three in a row!
